11/12/10 - Institute president and CEO Gerald D. Jensen joins board of public health organization
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Gerald D. Jensen, president and CEO of Siskin Children’s Institute, CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – At a meeting this week, Gerald D. Jensen, president and CEO of Siskin Children’s Institute, accepted an appointment to the board of directors with the national nonprofit Public Health Foundation Enterprises (PHFE). Headquartered in the Los Angeles, Calif., area, PHFE’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of people in communities nationwide by providing quality management services. The organization offers fiscal sponsorship—a practice in which a nonprofit provides administrative services to entities that align with its mission—to government, nonprofit and for-profit entities related to public health across the country. PHFE provides its partners a wide range of services including strategic planning and consulting, grants management, systems migrations and personnel management. Through support from PHFE, agencies are able to reduce administrative overhead, improve accountability and spend more time and funding on programming and service delivery. “PHFE is an organization with national influence and a board of directors with national representation,” said Jensen. “The Institute’s venture into the public health arena with our new developmental behavioral pediatric clinic and our location in the southeastern United States were appealing factors to PHFE in my appointment. I know both our organizations will benefit from the interchange of ideas.”
