On January 27, Institute president and CEO Gerald D. Jensen addressed the Chattanooga Downtown Rotary Club. His remarks highlighted the strong history of Siskin Children's Institute and informed Rotarians of the significant recent expansion of services and programs at the Institute.
Most important, however, he punctuated the universal necessity for investing time, energy, resources and funding in programs for very young children. While Mr. Jensen applauded Chattanooga's acccomplishments, he also pointed out areas where the community could improve in its efforts to nurture its children with the goal of creating an increasingly educated, tolerant, forward-thinking and sustainable society—one that could be a model for communities everywhere. He concluded with a call to action for community leaders.
