04/25/11 - Institute welcomes three new board members
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE John Pregulman and Drs. Marvin Hall and James Shire join the board of CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Siskin Children's Institute is pleased to welcome three new board members who have strong ties to the Institute and to the Chattanooga community. Marvin Hall, M.D., and John Pregulman were sworn into their positions at the board’s March meeting. James Shire, M.D., FACS, was sworn in in April. Hall is a returning board member, having served from 2004 to 2010. He brings 24 years of experience in pediatric health care to the table. He is a pediatric intensivist and the medical director of the Children’s Hospital at Erlanger. He is also the clinical chairman for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga School of Medicine. Pregulman, a native of Chattanooga and grandson of Institute co-founder Garrison Siskin, brings a breadth of business experience to the board and has a lifelong family connection to the Institute. He served for many years as the president and COO of Siskin Steel and Supply Company. In 2004 he moved to Denver, Colo., where he is a private investor and senior finance manager of The Restaurant Company. Shire is a board certified surgeon in facial reconstruction. He has served as a past board member of FACES: The National Craniofacial Association, a non-profit organization serving families of children who have a disorder of the head, skull and/or neck. He is attuned to the unique needs of families who have a child with special needs through his many years in his subspecialty field. The board is chaired by Wells Fargo Advisors Director of Investments Ward Petty, who served previously as vice chair of the board. David I. Binder, grandson of Institute co-founder Mose Siskin, holds the position of immediate past chair. Siskin Children's Institute board members are appointed for three-year terms.
