10/21/08 - Researchers to present at international conference for children
Date: October 21, 2008 Institute researchers to present at international conference for children with special needs CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Two researchers from Siskin Children’s Institute will share their expertise as presenters at this year’s International Conference on Young Children with Special Needs and their Families Oct. 27-30 in Minneapolis. Dr. Robin McWilliam, director of the Siskin Center for Child and Family Research, will present three sessions on the following topics: Dr. Amy Casey, research scientist, will co-present with Dr. McWilliam on the topic, “The Engagement Classroom: Description and Findings.” The annual conference is sponsored by the Division for Early Childhood (DEC), which is one of seventeen divisions of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). The CEC is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and the gifted. DEC is especially for individuals who work with or on behalf of children with special needs, birth through age eight, and their families.
