Amy Casey, Ph.D., a research scientist at the Siskin Center for Child and Family Research, has been elected treasurer of the Tennessee Federation of the Council for Exceptional Children (TN-CEC). The TN-CEC is the state chapter of the Council for Exceptional Children, which is the largest international organization for professionals who serve people with disabilities. The CEC has more than 60 chapters across the world that help connect people to local education communities.

One of the Tennessee chapter’s primary goals is preparing for the annual CEC Convention and Expo, which happens to be in Nashville in 2010. Other responsibilities include advocating for policy changes and responding to any statewide issues that involve individuals with exceptionalities.
