What Is ABA Therapy?
ABA is an evidence-based therapy for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or other developmental disabilities. The goal of ABA therapy is to help children learn new skills and behaviors while decreasing unwanted behaviors. It can also improve focus, memory, communication and social skills, and academic performance.
Your child will have the opportunity to work with one or more of Siskin’s Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). BCBAs and RBTs work together to create a treatment plan that fits the needs of your child and family. ABA therapy can be conducted in a variety of settings, including home and school, and research suggests that 20-30 hours of treatment each week leads to the most effective outcomes.
